I am the founder and owner of Maddy K Weddings + Events Atelier and the producer of a Montreal based annual bridal show called "Bridal Boudoir Affair". Both my business have their own individual blogs, however I decided to create this blog as an insight to the life of a wedding planner!!
Just recently I had the pleasure of going on vacation with my husband!!! (It doesn't happen often!) It was there that I realized that people really don't know what goes on in the life of a wedding planner... I realized that every time I mentioned to anyone that I plan parties... I was somehow dismissed. I guess in their mind they thought... she plans parties... how hard can that be!!!
Fast Forward to a week later when we finally got back home and after hours of procrastination... I finally worked up the guts to check my emails!!! It really was worse than I thought... I wanted to cry!!! I had more than 500 emails waiting in my Inbox (That's not including my Facebook Inbox) and I hadn't even dared to turn on my cell yet! I was sure there was a ton of BBM's, SMS's and VM's waiting for me!!
While checking my emails... there was at least 2 dozen emails from aspiring wedding planners wanting to be interns and sharing the fact that it is their 'Dream' to become a wedding planner one day... it was then that it hit me... People don't really know what Wedding planners do and what it really means to be a planner! Hence, the birth of " Diaries of a Wedding Planner".
I hope that through this blog I will not only inform but also inspire anyone aspiring to make a career out of this crazy profession that I love so much!!!
